ChowTapeModel

CHOW Tape Model is a digital representation of an analog tape machine, available as an audio plugin. The plugin offers adjustable parameters for tape distortion, playhead loss, wow/flutter, tape degradation, and more. Originally crafted to replicate the characteristics of the Sony TC-260 reel-to-reel tape machine, the current version can faithfully mimic a diverse array of tape machines and tape types.

Initially conceived as a project for Music 420 at Stanford University's Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA), CHOW Tape Model evolved into an academic publication presented at the DAFx conference in 2019.
